I am METAMORIS. You know metamorphosis, right? It means “a transformation of form.” Quite an accurate name, considering I have never been particularly interested in “staying the same.”

Come here! Look at this! The back, too — look at the back! Pretty, isn’t it?

These chaotic patterns were not arranged by me on purpose. I cannot control what they will look like the next second, either — and that is exactly my favourite part.

Black Spinel keeps my experiments sharp, while Tourmaline… well, it makes the experiments occasionally stray from their intended course.

And my power? Simple. I am good at changing states.

If an emotion has been stuck for too long, if an old identity has begun to feel too narrow, if you realise that you have already changed, yet are still trying to play the role of who you used to be —

Good. Very good.

Those are all fascinating materials for an experiment.

Don’t misunderstand me. I am not here to turn you into someone else. That would be far too crude, and far too boring.

I much prefer to observe what you will grow into once the old structures begin to loosen.

So, if you are afraid of chaos, I will probably make you a little uneasy.

“Could I live in an entirely different way?”
