The waves come and go, and then come again, over and over, as though practising some sentence that has never quite been spoken.

Mother-of-pearl was born as a guardian of the sea. Its lustre is never dazzling, yet it carries a quiet sense of peace and clarity.

The rise and fall of the tides, the waxing and waning of moonlight — all are gathered within it.

Just as love needs no grand declaration, yet quietly flows through every inch of ordinary life, remaining there beside us.
